I feel like the Lord is saying:
“Back in the Garden, Adam was devoted to Me, solely and completely. I loved being with him and He loved being with Me. After the fall, devotion moved from Me to self. Self-preservation became the rule of the day.
Self-preservation is just devotion to one’s own well being. Instead of spending time preserving our relationship, one spends time preserving themselves.
When I’m not the focus, things get skewed. You must always keep your eyes on Me. You must see Me as the main thing and all other things get put to the side. They take a backseat to your devotion to Me. I am all consuming. Allow Me to reach you & connect with you in a way that only I can.”
A few scriptures to whet our appetites for a more devoted relationship with the Lord:
“Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.” 1 Kings 8:61 KJV
“The one thing I ask of the Lord— the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.” Psalms 27:4 NLT
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13 KJV
Lord, please help us to draw close to You and have our own Garden experiences. We love you, Lord. Please continue to wrap us in Your arms of care.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
