Sweet Surrender

Do you ever get tired of striving? Do you ever get tired of trying to make things happen, in your own strength? 💪

There’s a remedy for that, for sure: sweet surrender.

We can pull a Jesus and say to Abba: not my will, but Your will be done. (Matthew 26:39, Mark 14:36, Luke 22:42, John 6:38)

What a sweet release! 👌 Of course, the release comes when we understand these things about God:

a) He loves us dearly

b) He knows better than us

c) His plans are for our benefit

d) He is good

A scripture that comes to mind: “Whoever remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy.” (Proverbs 29:1 NIV)

Yikes! 🤯 Doesn’t that make you want to stay sweetly surrendered?? 🥴

It’s so important to surrender to what the Lord wants for you instead of what you think you want for you. ☝️

Struggling and striving are HUGE time wasters. They take you out of the will of God—His will for you is REST. (Matthew 11:28)

Actually, whatever is achieved outside of rest really isn’t God’s best. 👎

Let that sink in. 🤔

Prayer: Lord, I repent where I have been stiff-necked. Please help me to surrender to Your will for my life, which is a place of rest. I love you and I thank you for all the good plans that you have for me, known and unknown. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
