I feel like the Lord is asking His people if we trust Him.
Now, our first response would be, of course we do, Daddy! We trust you with everything in us. Why, You know our favorite scripture in all the world is Proverbs 3:5-6…in every translation! 😄👌
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths (ESV)
That sounds all well and good, until the rubber meets the road.
What happens when someone gets sick?
Or you don’t have enough to make ends meet?
Or you don’t get into the educational program of your dreams?
Or your marriage falls apart?
Or you are wrongly accused?
Or any number of other things that can ruffle your feathers?
It’s when the pressure comes on that we know whether or not we really trust Him. I think we do ourselves a disservice when we don’t focus on developing our relationship with Him until we are in a bad spot. Trust is bred out of relationship—committed, continued relationship. We must spend more time focusing on getting to know God; it has to be our ultimate goal. This is how we become more acquainted with the surety of His character and the blessed assurance that He will NEVER let us down!
There is no way He can fail because He is infallible.
Let that sink in a bit.
If you are looking at me a little side eyed 👀👀👀, I have a challenge for you. How about we see some of the benefits of trusting the Lord:
Straight paths (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Help (Psalm 28:7)
No Fear (Jeremiah 17:7-8)
Perfect Peace (Isaiah 26:3)
Safety (Proverbs 29:25)
To name a few! Why don’t you do a Bible study of some additional benefits of trusting ABBA! You won’t be disappointed and it will increase your faith in the trustworthiness and dependability of our King!! 🙌
